Welcome! I’m the founder and lead instructor of Tane Flower, a studio dedicated to the art of Ikebana. My journey with Ikebana began in 2016 when I started practicing Ohararyu Ikebana. In 2019, I opened Tane Flower to share my passion for this beautiful and transformative art form with others. I am a proud member of the Ohararyu Seoul Chapter, and I hold the title of Ohararyu 3rd Term Master.

In addition to my personal practice, I serve as Vice President of Ikebana International Seoul Chapter #268 and am an Associate Member of Ikebana International Portland Chapter #47. I am also a certified SOTA Ikebana Instructor and a member of the Ikebana International Tokyo Founding Chapter (TFC).

With a background in UX design and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, my approach to Ikebana is informed by my design training. I have always been drawn to the use of diverse materials and techniques, which I now incorporate into my Ikebana work. The subtlety and harmony of the Ohararyu style continue to inspire me, particularly how the Ohara School uses a range of tools and methods to express the beauty of nature.

What I love most about Ikebana is that there is always more to learn. This continuous evolution is what led me to teaching and sharing Ikebana with others. Thanks to Ohararyu Seoul chapter’s close relationship with the Ohara school headquarter in Tokyo, Tane Flower has participated in numerous workshops and events in Korea and Japan, staying connected to the latest techniques and trends. The Ohara masters in Tokyo are constantly researching and developing new methods, ensuring the tradition remains dynamic and relevant.

At Tane Flower, I aim to offer a fresh perspective on Ikebana while honoring its rich history. Whether you’re new to Ikebana or looking to deepen your practice, I look forward to guiding you through this profound and beautiful art form.
